  • Available to all families living in the Bow Valley with children aged 0-18. The Family Resource Network provides programs, prevention and early intervention services and support to local families.
    From weekly play spaces, to parent education, developmental screening and grief counselling for children.

  • The Family Connection Centre offer resources, education, 1:1 family support, training, workshops and support to families in the Bow Valley.
    All programs are FREE and available to families of the Bow Valley.

  • The Bow Valley Primary Care Network (PCN) is a network of healthcare professionals dedicated to improving and managing the health of Bow Valley residents.
    The network includes local doctors, nurses, clinicians, panel management assistants, and a small administrative team. PCN also partner with various community organizations to connect residents with opportunities to improve health and wellness. The PCN is part of your public healthcare system, funded by Alberta Health.

  • The AAM offers a comprehensive Midwife Directory where you can search for registered midwives by name, practice, or area served.
    They also provide a Map of Practices that visually displays midwifery clinics across the province, including urban centers like Calgary and Edmonton, as well as rural and remote communities.

    If you're seeking care, you can submit a request through their centralized intake system, which helps match you with available midwives and supports workforce planning.

National + Global Resources

  • The Canadian Association of Midwives (CAM) is the national organization representing midwives and the profession of midwifery in Canada.

    What CAM Does:

    • Advocates for midwifery integration into the healthcare system across all provinces and territories.

    • Provides national leadership on issues impacting midwifery practice.

    • Collaborates with Indigenous midwifery organizations to support culturally appropriate care.

    • Offers guidance, position statements, and professional development opportunities for midwives.

    • Works on both domestic and international maternal health projects.

  • The SOGC’s mission is to promote excellence in the practice of obstetrics and gynecology and to advance the health of women and pregnant people through leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and education.

    What do they do?

    • Provide clinical practice guidelines (similar to ACOG) for Canadian obstetrical and gynecological care.

    • Offer continuing education for physicians, midwives, nurses, and allied health professionals.

    • Advocate for reproductive and sexual health rights and high standards in maternal and newborn care.

  • The World Health Organization leads and champions global efforts to achieve better health for all.

  • Established in 1960, Lamaze is a not-for-profit organization working to advance safe and healthy pregnancy birth and early parenting through evidence-based education and advocacy with over six decades of research behind them.
